Commentary:

An advertisement published by Národní listy 7/11/1862 announced: ‘Advance notice. In the Hall at „U Šáryho“ (At Šára’s) will be performed tomorrow, and then regularly each Thursday, a musical entertainment in which will participate the great string band of the orchestra of the Royal 29th Mounted Regiment [dragoons], under the personal direction of Mr Kapelník Ambrož. Seventh Violon Concerto by Beriot. Figaro, great Potpourri by Ambrož. The fuller programme in the concert-bill [na vyvěšených návěstích - the programme bill given out at the event].’ An almost identical advertisment published in Národní listy 8/11/1862 added that the event would begin at 6pm and that admission cost 10kr.

German-language versions, identical in content except for describing the event as a ‘musical soirée [musikalische Soirée]’ were published in Prager Morgenpost on 7/11/1862 and 8/11/1862.

Admission to each concert cost 10kr. The performances began at 6pm. According to later advertisements published by Národní listy, these performances also took place on Sundays throughout the concert season.
