Kott, František Bedřich (1808-1884). Czech (Moravian) singer, pianist and composer. Studied at the Prague Conservatory after which he became a teacher of piano in Brno and a singer in a local church and in the theatre. Active as a composer his works include the earliest known Czech opera on a Hussite theme (Žižkův dub - Žižka’s oak), many sacred and secular vocal works, and orchestral and instrumental music.
